The winners of the Sports Journalists’ Association British Sports Awards 2025 will be announced live on Sky Sports News on Tuesday, November 11.
This will be the 77th edition of the SJA British Sports Awards, which trace their history back to 1949. They are the longest-established awards of their kind in Britain.
SJA members will again vote for the big three prizes on offer – Sportsman, Sportswoman, and Team of the Year Awards.
Several other awards will be made, recognising the achievements of U.K. athletes, coaches and personalities during the last 12 months, and in some instances, during their whole careers.
All the winners will be announced across Sky Sports platforms over the course of the day on Tuesday, November 11.
The SJA British Sports Awards will once again honour a wide range of fantastic sporting achievements.
Last year, the SJA Sportsman of the Year was triathlete Alex Yee, who won Olympic and world titles in 2024; the Sportswoman of the Year was another Olympic gold medalist, 800m runner Keely Hodgkinson; and the Great Britain and Northern Ireland rowing team from Paris 2024 were named Team of the Year, after enjoying their best-ever medal haul from an overseas Olympics.
Among the many highlights from the British sporting calendar in 2025 have been the tournament triumphs of the England women’s football and rugby union teams, at Euro 2025 and the World Cup respectively; Team Europe’s thrilling victory at the Ryder Cup; Chelsea’s men lifting the FIFA Club World Cup; Arsenal’s women celebrating glory in the UEFA Champions League; five Grands Prix wins so far this season for Lando Norris, including the British GP; Luke Littler becoming the youngest world champion in darts history; and Maro Itoje leading the British and Irish Lions to tour success in Australia.
Alongside its trio of main prizes, the SJA British Sports Awards also celebrates achievements in other categories, including…
- Outstanding Performance
- Breakthrough Athlete / International Newcomer
- Para-athletes
- Services to Sport off the field
