Getting to heart of the action: crashing cricket commentary

All sports journalists like to think they are at the heart of the action, but few could lay claim to being as much part of the action as Edward Bevan was when commentating for BBC Radio Wales during a cricket match yesterday.

The ever-splendid Garry Richardson highlighted the incident on Radio 4’s Today programme this morning, just after 8.30am.

To describe what happens would be, at best, prosaic, so we recommend that you follow this link to the sports bulletin (ie. scroll through to about 2hr 31min into the programme) once it is posted later this morning.

You’ll hear a wonderful example of poise under fire.
