Adamson replaces Mike Norrish, who is leaving to join BT Sport as a senior digital producer, working on its launch this summer. “I’m excited to be joining BT Sport after five great years at The Telegraph,” Norrish told sportsjournalists.co.uk.

“The site’s come a long way thanks to the hard work and talent of its digital journalists, and the commitment of the reporting team. Winning European Newspaper Website of the Year for our Olympic coverage was a highlight.”

Adamson, 32, moves to Victoria from The Guardian, where he was football editor, responsible for content for the Guardian, Observer and guardian.co.uk.

He had previously worked as the liaison between digital and print sports desks and before that he was digital sports night editor.
