The event is to be held at the Royal Geographical Society (1, Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AR) from 9.30-10.30am, with breakfast being served from 9am.

Donovan will be available for interview.

In 2002, Richard Donovan became the first person in history to run a marathon at both the North and South Poles. He is the world record-holder for running a marathon on all seven continents in 2009 (5 days 10hr 8min), and is a past winner of the South Pole Marathon, the Everest Challenge Marathon, Himalayan 100-Mile Stage Race, Inca Trail Marathon and the Antarctic 100k (three times).

Donovan has also had a highly successful career in economics in Ireland and the United States.

Most recently, he has branched out into organising ultra marathon events and used his experience to encourage others to get into ultra running.
