What: National Ice Skating Association (NISA) Media Open Day to preview the forthcoming Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi where figure skaters from NISA’s performance squad will compete for Team GB.
Who: Sochi 2014 Olympic hopefuls and coaches will be available for interviews, photos and filming.
Where: iceSheffield, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA
When: Sunday, 1 December 2013.
12.00 – Media Registration Opens – Please report to the main reception and ask for Annie Veck.
12.30-13.30 – A selection of skaters and coaches from NISA’s performance squad will be available for interviews and filming.
14.30-15.30 – Sport demonstration – The skaters will train on the ice pad at iceSheffield. Photographs and film crews are welcome to watch and film/photograph training.
15.30 – Close.
The British Figure Skating Championships 2013, which is a selection event for the Sochi 204 Olympic Winter Games. The Championships take place at iceSheffield from 26 November – 1 December 2013.
Media are welcome to attend the British Figure Skating Championships for filming and photographs (no flash photography). Please note the skaters and coaches will NOT be available for interview during the Championships. Any interviews with the figure skaters will take place at the Media Day on 1 December.
Please confirm your attendance at both the British Championships and Media Day, with any specific interview requests, via email to natalie@hrmedia.org.uk, by 5pm on Friday 22 November 2013.
The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games take place from February 7-23, 2014.
NISA skaters have so far qualified five places for Team GB in Sochi. Great Britain could still earn a sixth place at Sochi in the Team category. The International Skating Union (ISU) will announce the allocation of quota places for the team in mid-December 2013.
