An Extraordinary General Meeting of the Sports Journalists’ Association will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The EGM will be held online and is scheduled to begin at 11.30am BST.
SJA members are welcome to attend, and a link will be made available in advance of the Meeting to those requesting attendance via email at info@sportsjournalists.co.uk.
The notice of the EGM follows on from the SJA’s Annual General Meeting, which was held on June 3.

The Agenda for the EGM is as follows:
1. Welcome and Apologies.
2. Notice Convening the Meeting.
3. Special Business: Election of Committee Roles
The Chair will introduce each role individually and call for nominations from the floor. Each nominee requires a Proposer and a Seconder, who must be Full Members of the Association. Voting will be conducted by a simple majority.
3.1 Election for the Head of Sports Awards
3.2 Election for the Head of Journalism Awards
3.3 Election for the Membership and Diversity Lead
3.4 Election for the Commercial and Sponsorship Lead
3.5 Election for the Rights and Welfare Officer
3.6 Election of Ordinary Committee Members
4. Close of Meeting
This is in line with Section 9 of the SJA Constitution.
Also – SJA members in all categories are welcome to attend the EGM, but only Honorary and Full members are entitled to vote, should a vote be required.
