The funeral for Christopher Hilton, the former Express sportswriter who died last month, will be held from Noon next Wednesday, December 22, at Parndon Wood Crematorium, Harlow (click here for a map of the location).
The family asks for no flowers, but donations instead to a charitable cause. Details of how to make donations can be found by contacting Julia Hilton (email address below).
There will be a wake afterwards for family, friends and colleagues.
Julia Hilton, Chris’s daughter, has written to the SJA, following the report published on the website:
“Many thanks for your kind words about my dad. Mum and I have been amazed by the comments people have taken the time to write. To us he was just “Tiffer”, or dad, and we can’t quite believe how many lives he touched or how many people remember him fondly.
“He was the best dad ever, but those of you who knew him probably won’t be surprised by that. I am still finding it strange to be actually be able to finish a sentence without being interrupted!
