How and where to watch British Sports Journalism Awards 2020

As you may have already seen the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards is going virtual. The usual vibrant, bustling meet-up may not be possible this year but we hope, nonetheless, you can sit back with a glass of something nice and celebrate the amazing work done in a year like no other.

The show will announce winners of 30+ categories including the Sports Writer of the Year, the Canon Sports Photographer of the Year, Sports Network and the Sports Newspaper of the Year.

The awards will be broadcast on March 15 at 19:00. To watch head to the awards website, no sign-up required: www.britishsportsjournalismawards.co.uk

How can I watch the awards?

I am shortlisted for an award, do I need to do anything? 
No, the award is an announcement show so there is no speeches. We are encouraging everyone to post how they are watching, celebrations and join in the conversation on social media using the hashtags #SJA2020 and #BritishSportsJournalismAwards.

If I am shortlisted and haven’t been contacted does this mean I haven’t won?
No, winners have not been contacted in advance of the show so you will need to tune in to find out if you have won. The exception is a few featured awards. 

How long is the awards show? 
The awards show is one hour and twenty minutes long. 

Can anybody watch?
Yes please, the more the merrier. Please feel free to share the link, the awards show can be accessed from anywhere worldwide via the website.  

Are there still trophies?
Yes, we will be sending out trophies and certificates to arrive in the coming days after the awards. Whether on the shortlist, bronze award, silver award or winner we have a digital icon for you to display if you wish.
