Entries open for 2015 Sports Journalism Awards

SJA LOGOA football photograph of the year award and a prize for the best portfolio of pictures from the Rugby World Cup have been added to the categories for the BT Sport-sponsored 2015 SJA British Sports Journalism Awards, for which entries are now open.

The entry forms for the awards across all categories – including sports writing, online and in print, broadcasting, websites and photography – are now available in downloadable format here, although you have until January 13 to select the best examples of your work and submit your entries.

Hard copies of the forms have also been posted or emailed to previous entrants, sports desks and SJA members.

The British Sports Journalism Awards will judge work published or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2015.

It’s a new venue and new date for the awards presentations which recognise the best in sports photography, broadcasting and journalism, in print and online.

But thanks to the generous sponsorship of BT Sport the SJA has been able to offer the tickets at the same prices since 2012.

The gala event will include an exhibition of the leading photography entries, a drinks reception, and a three-course dinner with wine. It is attended by hundreds of leading figures from sport, the media and politics. Tickets are £120 (plus VAT).

SJA members can buy their ticket for half that price – £60 (plus VAT) – and they can also purchase one additional guest ticket for £90 (plus VAT).

The presentation dinner has been brought forward to a February date, and that means that the entry period will also be slightly different this year.

The closing date for all categories of January 13, 2016.
