Football fans’ charity tour in journo’s memory

A group of Morecambe football fans are touring all the Conference grounds in 48 hours over the August Bank Holiday weekend, in memory of a local journalist and the club’s former captain, who died within weeks of each other.

Lancashire Evening Post sports sub-editor John Clarke and former Morecambe FC captain Gary Dullaghan both died of brain tumours earlier this year.

Five fans are aiming to raise money for Brain Tumour UK, and plan to set off from Morecambe’s Christie Park ground straight after Saturday’s match against Stevenage Borough.
