The Midlands is to stage two European athletics events in 2007, and the organisers of each are collaborating to help promote both.
The European Athletics Indoor Championships will be staged at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena from March 2-4 and race walking European Cup will be held just a few miles down the road in Royal Leamington Spa on May 20.
“Given the close proximity of these events in date and location we feel it makes sense to work together and hopefully both events will benefit from any joint promotional activity. We will also be looking to share ideas and contacts to help ensure that both events are a success,” said Brian Stocks, championships director for the European Indoors.
