RFU: Elite rugby open media day

The Elite Rugby Department will be hosting its fourth open media day on Wednesday, September 15 at Twickenham Stadium.

Members of the Elite Rugby department will demonstrate a number of innovations, which are used to help develop and coach players through the Elite pathway from the England U18 squad and Academy system right through to the England Senior Elite Player Squad.

The day will be hosted by Elite Rugby Director, Rob Andrew and members of the department who will be involved include;

-England Team Manager, Martin Johnson
-England U20 Head Coach, Rob Hunter
-Strength & Conditioning Coaches Simon Worsnop and Neil Taylor
-England nutritionist Matt Lovell
-Commonwealth Super-Middleweight boxing champion, Georgie Groves

Please note that all attendees are welcome to bring along their own gym kit and trainers if they want to take an active part in any of the sessions.

The three presentation areas will be:

– A demonstration of the GPS �” Global positioning System.
– Demonstrations of using boxing as a conditioning tool for rugby players.
– A practical seminar on body fat.

VENUE: Good Health Bar and Twickenham Stadium Gym, West Stand, Twickenham Stadium

TIMINGS:
10.30am Tea/coffee available – Good Health Bar
11.00am Introduction – Elite Rugby Director, Rob Andrew, GHB
11.20am Media split into three activity groups
1.30pm Lunch available and Q&A session, GHB
2.00pm Close
