RFU: Elite rugby department media open day

The RFU is staging an elite rugby department media open day on Tuesday, September 15.

The timetable for the day is:

10.30am Tea/coffee available Good Health Bar, West Stand, Twickenham Stadium

Changing area – Dressing room 3 (nearest the gym) available for those media wishing to take an active part in the day (Optional).

11.00am Rob Andrew introduction – Elite Rugby department media day starts – Good Health Bar

Sessions to include,

1. Observing fitness profiling of the England U20 squad, including speed, power and endurance – England fitness coach, Paul Stridgeon, National Academy and England U20 Fitness Coach, Simon Worsnop
2. Long term elite player profiling via the elite hub website – England Team Manager Martin Johnson, England Saxons and Head of Elite Player Development, Stuart Lancaster, Head of Data & Analysis, John Hall
3. Sports psychology for the national academy – England U20 team psychologist and national academy head of psychology, Matt Thombs, England U20 head coach, Mark Mapletoft

Media will be split into three groups and each of the three sections will take around 40 minutes to complete.

England nutritionist, Matt Lovell, will all be attending to supervise the catering and demonstrate England Rugby’s approach to diet and nutritrion.

1.30pm Snacks and drinks available in the Good Health Bar/Q&A and interviews.
