Jessica Ennis, the heptathlon world champion, will be available for interview before she competes in the 200 metres and javelin at the Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday. Ennis will be using the Aviva British Grand Prix as part of her final preparations for the European Championships at the end of this month, where she will be captaining the Aviva GB & NI Team.
Britain’s No1 400 metres runner, Martyn Rooney, arrives at the Aviva British Grand Prix this weekend as the fastest man in Europe over one lap in 2010, following a run of 44.99 secs in Geneva and then again in Birmingham on 27 June.
Hot on his heels is Michael Bingham, who despite an early lead in the final, just missed out on the UK Championship title. These two friends will be rivals on Saturday as they go head to head in the 400m against a strong British and International field, including Brit Conrad Williams and Jamaican Ricardo Chambers.
