Who: Luol Deng, the Chicago Bulls star made his debut in the Great Britain jersey earlier this month and is determined to help Great Britain gain promotion into Eurobasket A, which is where they will need to be by 2012 for Olympic qualification. The 2012 ambassador represented England schoolboys as a teenager and ever since has expressed a desire to return and represent the country that granted his family political asylum after they left Sudan. Luol’s sister, Arek, will also make her Eurobasket debut for the women’s squad this summer.

Chris Finch, head coach, who steered the GB men’s squad to an emphatic victory over Group B leaders, the Netherlands, in last year’s Eurobasket campaign. Texan-born Finch spent four years as a professional player with Sheffield Sharks before he became their head coach in 1997 through to 2003

Chris Sanders, born in Sutton Coldfield, will play basketball in his hometown for the first time in several years. The Aston Villa fan grew up dreaming of playing with his then heroes, Birmingham Bullets, at the National Indoor Arena. Despite spending the early years of his childhood playing rugby he eventually fell in love with basketball and went on to play for Birmingham XL, before leaving Fairfax school, Sutton Coldfield, for Master’s College, USA, at 18.
