BOA launches teleconferences for the media

What:
Each month the BOA will host a media teleconference, providing an efficient forum to bring together Team GB Olympic hopefuls with the media. Each teleconference aims to include a minimum of three athletes from three different sports, both summer and winter. The BOA will host and manage the calls.

Why:
The media teleconferences will give athletes from Olympic sports the opportunity to tell the story of their journey to London 2012 or Sochi 2014 to key media in a very efficient manner. Media will benefit by having access to three timely and topical Olympic sport stories in one hit. Athletes featured will be preparing to compete in a major event, so the call will be an opportunity to preview their participation in a World, European or British Championships as well as looking further ahead to their Olympic ambitions.

When:
The first media teleconference is scheduled to take place on January 24 (TBC) and will feature a leading athlete from a range of sports including judo, skeleton and table tennis. Calls will then take place on a monthly basis throughout the year. A media advisory giving specific details will be sent out one week in advance of each call. Members of the media will be required to pre-register their participation.

Contact Us:
If you have any queries or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the BOA Communications Team. A media advisory with details of the first call will be sent out in the week commencing January 17.
