SPAR UK is staging a media event at RAF Cosford this Sunday with world and European championships medal-winner Jenny Meadows.

SPAR UK’s athletics ambassador Jenny Meadows is continuing to show SPAR’s support for the RAF’s Athletics Association by hosting a master class for the RAF Cosford team.
SPAR already provides stores within barracks across the country, providing servicemen with groceries, and will now use its sponsorship of UK Athletics to support the RAF’s performances on the track.
Jenny was on hand at RAF Cosford to announce SPAR’s support and to put the servicemen through their paces on the track.
Jenny commented, “Our servicemen do an incredible job under intense pressure. Standing on the starting line of the Olympic 800m final is nothing compared to what they go through so I’m really happy to be able to do my bit and help them with their athletic performance.”
Adam Margolin, Head of Marketing Support for SPAR UK, added, “We’ve had a trade relationship with the armed forces for many years with stores on site at barracks and given our European and UK Athletics sponsorships it made sense for us to extend our support to the RAF Athletics Association. Not only can we use our existing sponsorship platform to help them on the track, we can also help them refuel off it.”
SPAR has been principle sponsor of the European Athletics Association since 1996 and a sponsor of UK Athletics since 2004.
Inspired to switch from 400m to 800m by Kelly Holmes’ performances in Athens 2004, Jenny Meadows has won medals at every major Championships apart from the Olympic Games.
