It isn’t just Chris Coleman and Gareth Bale’s Wales side that keeps winning.

Now the photographer covering the Welsh march towards the European finals, Stu Forster of Getty Images, is in the prizes, too.

The Vauxhall Home Nations Photographer of the Year for 2014 was awarded to Forster for his portfolio just before the team jetted off to Israel for their latest win yesterday.

“This has been the most competitive year since we launched the awards,” said Cheryl Stibbs of Vauxhall. “We have been taken aback by the quality of the entries and were amazed by the interest our awards have created.

“Stu Forster was our unanimous choice and worthy winner of the top award. His portfolio was an incredible demonstration of sporting photography which captured the drama and athleticism of international football.

“He delivered an extremely impressive selection and combination of action and portrait imagery which demonstrated the excitement and drama of this sport at international level.”

AFP photographer Ian Macnicol was crowned England Photographer of the Year for his portfolio, while Carl Recline, of Actions images, claimed the England Individual Photograph of the Year.

Adrian Dennis of AFP, the SJA’s Sports Photographer of the Year, landed first prize in the Individual Photograph of Supporters. Adrian’s photo of two young passionate supporters represented the next generation of young England fans.

SNS photographer Craig Williamson won Scotland’s Photographer of the Year.
