The Sports Journalists’ Association is delighted to announce that Canon UK will again sponsor our photography awards at the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards, the most prestigious sports photography competition in the UK.
Started in the late 1970s and running continuously for the past 40 years, previous winners include legends of the business Chris Smith, Eamon McCabe, Patrick Eagar and Bob Martin.
Canon and the SJA formed a partnership for the first time at the 2017 awards where The Sun‘s Richard Pelham was named sports photographer of the year and the Canon sports portfolio category was won by Clive Mason of Getty Images.
An exhibition of the winning entries was displayed at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge and has since gone on tour round the country, including the inaugural European Championships in Glasgow, and universities.
The 2018 edition of the British Sports Journalism Awards will again be held at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge on Monday, February 25, 2019.
