Ohuruogu on track: SJA lunch 30July

The SJA is delighted to announce that Olympic gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu will be the guest at our next sporting lunch, to be held in Fleet Street on Thursday, July 30.

Londoner Ohuruogu will join us for lunch at Ye Olde Cock Tavern, from 12.30pm, less than a month before she seeks to defend her world title at 400 metres in Berlin.

This is a tremendous opportunity for SJA members to speak to the winner of one of the most thrilling Olympic finals in Beijing last summer. We expect there to be high demand for places, so you are encouraged to contact Mary Fitzhenry promptly to book your place. Priority will be given to SJA members, but guests are welcome to apply, too.

The SJA lunch will be one of the few opportunities for the press to meet and interview Ohuruogu before the Berlin world championships. We hope that by staging this lunch on a Thursday, it will appeal equally to Sunday newspaper journalists as well as those working on dailies.

HOW TO BOOK
The SJA lunch will take place at Ye Olde Cock Tavern, 22 Fleet Street. The venue is less than half a mile from Blackfriars, Temple and Chancery Lane Tube stations and City Thameslink rail. Click here for a map of the location.

Places will be allocated ona first-come, first-reserved basis, with preference given to SJA members. The cost is £20 for fully paid-up SJA members, and £25 for non-members, to include a two-course meal.

Members are expected to buy their own drinks.

Payments are to be made on the day to Mary Fitzhenry, by cheque (made payable to the SJA) or cash please.

Contact Mary Fitzhenry by email to mary@spokepromotions.com or by phone on 020 8946 9601 or 07946 545084 (please indicate whether a vegetarian meal is required).

All details are subject to change until confirmed by the SJA, both on this website and via emails to members.
