Media Advisory: Youth Olympic Games

What: Opportunity to interview Team GB athletes and officials prior to their departure to make Olympic history by participating in the first Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Singapore.

The YOG will take place from 14-26 August 2010, with 3,600 athletes, aged 14-18, from 205 nations competing across all 26 sports on the London 2012 Olympic programme. Team GB will consist of 40 athletes from 16 sports and 18 disciplines.

The athletes will be receiving their Team GB kit, produced by adidas, before taking part in both written and broadcast media interviews and having their photograph taken in Team GB kit.

When: 12:30 – 16:00, Monday 9th August 2010. The first athletes will arrive for kitting out at 12:30 and they will continue to arrive in sport by sport groups throughout the afternoon. Media activity will close at 4pm.

Where: The Marlow Room, Holiday Inn, London Heathrow Airport, M4 Junction 4, Sipson Road, London UB7 0JU (directions here). Car parking is available free of charge, please notify hotel reception of your car details upon arrival.

Who: 36 athletes selected to Team GB for the Youth Olympic Games Athletes. Click here to view team lists. Athletes from canoeing, diving and taekwondo will not be present.
