Miller Lords it for his half-century

By Barry Newcombe

David Miller celebrated 50 years in journalism at a reception at the House of Lords hosted by Lord Coe, a friend of Miller for 30 years, and the Telegraph Media Group.

Miller’s wide ranging career meant that guests came from many walks of sport including football, rugby, tennis and track and field. Many of Miller’s colleagues who have worked with him in press boxes around the world were present.

Keith Perry, sports editor of the Daily Telegraph, welcomed the guests and paid tribute to Miller’s career and presented Miller with a copy of the Daily Telegraph from 50 years ago.

Miller, once a member of the British Olympic training squad, worked for four national titles, the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, The Times and the Daily Express, and has been a columnist at the Daily Telegraph since 1997. He says that he will continue to work for the Daily Telegraph.
