The funeral service for Brian Madley, the fomer chief sports correspondent of the People, took place at Chelmsford Crematorium today.
Tributes included those from Peter Corrigan, the former Observer sports editor and Madley’s cousin who grew up with him in South Wales and told how they first took a joint interest in sport when they went behind the goal as young boys at Cardiff City.
Ken Montgomery of the Sunday Mirror also spoke.
