Pair of tickets on offer for Heroes rugby challenge

The Sports Journalists’ Association has a pair of tickets on offer for the Help for Heroes Rugby Challenge to be staged at Twickenham on Saturday December 3.

For sports writers looking for some excellent, headline-making copy, the organisers are also offering to arrange interviews with the event’s “coaching staff”: Dean Ryan, Nick Mallett, John Kirwan and Wayne Smith.

And for people just looking for a great, pre-Christmas day out all for a wonderful cause, there is a two-for-one offer on tickets for the event, too.

The game will feature some of rugby’s greatest players. World Cup winners Lawrence Dallaglio and Jason Leonard alongside Wales’s Ieuan Evans will manage a strong H4H Northern Hemisphere XV against an all-star Southern Hemisphere outfit.

The northern hemisphere XV will be bolstered by Rugby World Cup winners Will Greenwood and Danny Grewcock, alongside Celtic legends, Alan Quinlan and Malcolm O’Kelly. French powerhouse Serge Betsen will be on hand to add some gallic flair to the occasion.

With Wayne Smith confirmed as a coach of the Southern Hemisphere XV, the team will have a fantastic mix of talent. Justin Marshall and Andrew Mehrtens, who formed a potent half-back partnership in their All Black days, will add some guile and creativity to the team and they will be ably supported by newly crowned World Cup-winner Adam Thomson who played a vital part in New Zealand’s winning squad. New Zealand’s new generation will also be taking part with NZ Maori Jackson Willison and New Zealand U21 international Jeremy Thrush showcasing their potential on the day.

All proceeds from ticket sales go to Help for Heroes.
