Hockey stars line-up for May 6 SJA lunch

Cast your vote and then join the real debate on election day, Thursday May 6, at the Sports Journalists’ Association lunch with members of Great Britain’s men’s and women’s hockey teams.

Our guests for this lunch are Richard Mantell, Britain’s talismanic defender and specialist corner taker, Crista Cullen, the star defender who earned her 50th cap against China this month.

Unfortunately, David Faulkner, the performance director originally announced as attending, will not now be able to join us.

Mantell is recovering from the horrific injury suffered during the 5-2 win over Pakistan in India. He has been hugely influential in the team’s rise in fortunes from fifth in Beijing to European champions in 2009.

HOW TO BOOK
The SJA lunch will take place from 12.30pm at Ye Olde Cock Tavern, 22 Fleet Street. The venue is less than half a mile from Blackfriars, Temple and Chancery Lane Tube stations and City Thameslink rail. Click here for a map of the location.

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-reserved basis, with preference given to SJA members. The cost is £20 plus VAT for fully paid-up SJA members, and £25 plus VAT for non-members, to include a two-course meal and coffee.

Members are expected to buy their own drinks.

Payments are to be made on the day to Mary Fitzhenry, by cheque (made payable to the SJA) or cash please.

Contact Mary Fitzhenry by email to mary@spokepromotions.com or by phone on 07946 545084 (please indicate whether a vegetarian meal is required).
