A Question of Boris – SJA meets London’s Mayor

Anyone for whiff-waff?

The Sports Journalists’ Association is delighted that it has been invited by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to an evening reception at City Hall from 6.30pm on Wednesday, May 19, to discuss capital sporting matters in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Entry will be for a very limited number of SJA members only, chosen on a first-come, first-reserved basis.

“I have been talking to the Mayor’s office since we had a meeting at the Beijing Olympics,” said SJA Chairman Barry Newcombe. “Obviously, we are delighted to have an opportunity to meet the Mayor and discuss a range of issues around sport in London, including, of course, the 2012 Games.”

Following the Sporting Question Time with Gerry Sutcliffe, Hugh Robertson and Don Foster, the SJA’s meeting with the Mayor of London demonstrates the SJA’s growing influence as Britain enters its “Decade of Sport”.
