A panel event exploring what the future might hold for sports media professionals will be held in London on the evening of Thursday 14 September.

The industry get-together (6pm to 9pm) is being put on by the Sports Journalists’ Association and is open to all its members, including those from the SJA Academy.

The event at Woburn House, near Euston, follows the announcement of Darren Lewis as the SJA’s new President-elect.

An hour-long discussion hosted by Karthi Gnanasegaram will be followed by an audience Q&A and networking opportunities, with refreshments available. Talking points will include:

  • younger audience behaviours
  • emerging content creator opportunities
  • the impact of A.I.
  • attracting and retaining a diverse workforce
  • trust in the industry, and authenticity

On the panel will be Darren Lewis, the Assistant Editor of the Daily Mirror, plus SJA committee members Mark Alford (Director of Sky Sports News), Mayowa Quadri (Head of Brand, VERSUS), James Toney (Managing Editor, Sportsbeat), and Laura Williamson (Deputy Editor of The Athletic).
