Video age comes to local paper

From Holdthefrontpage.co.uk

The new age of digital publishing across a range of media – including video and audio as well as the written word on websites – has come to local newspapers, with the Brighton Argus celebrating Sussex’s County Championship success with a special video report.

The Argus went to town with its coverage of Sussex’s successful season, with three eight-page souvenir supplements to go with its video report of an open-top bus parade by the team.

All the reports were put together by The Argus‘s cricket writer Bruce Talbot, who has covered the county’s fortunes since 1994.

The video report was compiled by news reporters Miles Godfrey and Andy Dickenson, who travelled with the team on the bus and filmed interviews with some of the team.

The pair had earlier undergone an intensive Newsquest video journalism training course, and it was the first time their footage had been uploaded to www.theargus.co.uk.
