Southwell leaves GolfPunk magazine

Tim Southwell, the award-winning founder of GolfPunk magazine, has quit as editor.

Only last month, Southwell was honoured as editor of the year in the specialist interest category at the British Society of Magazine Editors awards.

“It seemed now was the right time to move on,” Southwell told the SJA website.

Southwell started out as a music journo for NME, Smash Hits, and Record Mirror, before he co-founded Loaded with James Brown in 1994.

Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb is GolfPunk‘s publisher, and he will oversee changes. Footballers Thomas Sorenson, Stephen Wright, Jason MacAteer and Michael Gray are all investors in the title.
