Photographer “stunned” by arrest at match

A freelance photographer has told how was “absolutely stunned” when he was arrested while covering a Mansfield Town football match for the Nottingham Evening Post on Saturday.

Dan Westwell had been pitchside during the match when he was asked by stewards to leave the ground and was then arrested and taken to Mansfield police station. He was later charged with a public order offence and released on bail. He is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court on Friday.
