From Giselle Davies, IOC
Greetings and Happy New Year. First, I wanted to take this opportunity to send best wishes from the IOC Communications team for a happy and fruitful 2007. I’m also pleased to update you on some refinements we have made within the team in order to improve our service to you.

Emmanuelle Moreau, whom many of you know, has from Jan 1 taken the role of Media Relations Manager. She will run the President’s media agenda as well as those for other members of the IOC and/or subject matter experts. Additionally, she will be able to give you the IOC’s response on matters of interest to you and act as a quotable source.

Emmanuelle will be assisted by Sandrine Chabert, who has recently joined the team. Sandrine will be the first line of response to your enquiries on a new, dedicated media enquiry line: +41 (0)21 621 6000. In addition to responsibility for confirming interview times, locations and related logistics, Sandrine can also help you regarding dates of Executive Board meetings, IOC Sessions, Games Coordination meetings and other matters.

Depending on the nature of your enquiry, she will be able to redirect your call within our team as follows:

Olympic Games: Robert Roxburgh
Marketing Communications: Ben Seeley
Public/Corporate Affairs: Britta Jahnke (who will join our team on Feb 1).

I’m confident that these assignments within our media relations section will allow us to be more helpful and efficient.

In addition, I hope that you are finding www.olympic.org, and in particular www.olympic.org/media, to be useful and reliable sources of information. We have also set up RSS feeds at www.olympic.org/rss where you can subscribe to, amongst other things, Olympic news, press releases, media advisories and so forth.

Look out for some further new developments to our web site later this year. Also, if you haven’t already visited our news room, don’t hesitate to check it out for free b-roll footage, audio files and other information (www.olympic.org/thenewsroom).

Finally, if you are not already receiving Olympic Review, our quarterly magazine packed with Olympic athlete interviews and a round up of the latest happenings in the Olympic Movement, plus cover stories on wide range of issues, I invite you to subscribe at (www.olympic.org/newsletter). Our latest edition, featuring how athletes approach their mental preparation for competition, is out this month.
