NFL bans Racing Post from Wembley

From Charles Sale, Daily Mail
The Racing Post gives American football more coverage than any British newspaper, yet the betting publication has not been granted accreditation for the game between New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers at Wembley on Sunday due to the NFL’s strict anti-gambling stance.

The Post‘s sports editor Phil Agius said: “To say we’re hacked off with the NFL is an understatement.

“We’re banned yet papers who at best write about the NFL once a year – and slag the game off – are accredited.”

An NFL spokesman said: “We recognise the coverage we receive from the Racing Post, but it’s from the betting angle, which we do everything to discourage.”
