Corrigan is signed up to play a round for Telegraph

James Corrigan: new golf bag

James Corrigan, The Independent‘s Cardiff-based sports writer, has been recruited by the Telegraph Media Group to be their papers’ golf correspondent.

It is the second departure of a Corrigan from the Independent in a matter of a few months: Peter Corrigan, for 14 years the author of the Independent on Sunday‘s Hacker column, recently left amid the sports desk merger with the co-owned Evening Standard.

At the Telegraph, Corrigan will replace Kevin Garside, who left last autumn to work for Chubby Chandler’s sports management agency.

Corrigan is expected to take up his new job in May.
