The Times sports desk has made three high-profile changes, with Martin Samuel, twice the SJA Sportswriter of the Year, taking over as the newspaper’s football correspondent.
Moving from the football beat to that of sports correspondent is Matt Dickinson, while Owen Slot is put in charge of the newspaper’s Olympic coverage.
The changes follow the recent departures of John Goodbody and David Powell as part of the paper’s redundancy round.
