It is that time of year again, as we bask in a summer of wonderful sport, to look ahead to a chilly day at The Pavilion by the Tower of London where the SJA, in association with The National Lottery, will honour the Sportsman, Sportswoman and Sports Team of the year.
The standard has been set high with one World Cup-winning team in the men’s cricketers already. Who knows? The rugby union stars of England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland will be hoping to follow in their footsteps in Japan this autumn.
With the Ashes, the world athletics championships in Doha, the Formula One series, the Tour de France and the world swimming championships in South Korea still to be completed, it is far too early to start making your picks, although new Open champion Shane Lowry has made his case already!
But now is the time to think about booking a table. The venue is iconic, the room will be full of high-achieving sportsmen and women and it is an even more special occasion as it is our 70th anniversary of the awards.
Last year’s sportsman/woman/team of the year were Geraint Thomas, Dina Asher-Smith and England’s women netball team.
When: November 28 2019 (12.0-4.0pm)
Where: The Pavilion by the Tower of London
Prices are pegged again at £1200 for a table of 10 with huge discounts for SJA members.
