UK School Games – accreditation

From Fast Track
The UK School Games is a multi-sport event for the most talented teenagers across the United Kingdom. The inaugural event will be staged September 7-10 in Glasgow, featuring 1,200 athletes competing in five sports – athletics, swimming, gymnastics, table tennis and fencing, plus disability events in athletics and swimming.

The press accreditation deadline is August 30.

All media applying for accreditation will require a letter of authentication from their sports editor and a copy of their NUJ membership card, or equivalent identification, to verify their status as a journalist or photographer.

It is also essential that every applicant encloses two passport-sized photos with name on the reverse in order for their application to be processed.

Accreditation forms must be obtained from the organisers:
Holly Millward, UK School Games, 1 Brewers Green, Buckingham Gate, London, SW1H ORH

Fax: 0207 5935201. e-mail: holly.millward@fstrk.com

Once the media accreditation application form and letter of authentication has been received by the UK School Games Media Office, your application will be processed and confirmation of acceptance will be sent out by e-mail. Please note media accreditation will not be issued via post but will be available for collection in person from the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Congress Road, Glasgow on Wednesday September 6, from 1400. Media accreditation will not be available to collect from the sports venues.

An event specific Media Area will be available at each venue to provide easy access to results, information and light refreshments. Press tribunes and communication systems will also be available. A representative from the UK School Games Media Team will be available to answer queries on the day.

A central pool of external phone lines will be available for use by the Media at both the main Media Operations Centre and in the event specific media areas. However because of anticipated high demand, media are encouraged to consider using their own wireless communications.
