The entries are all in – in record-breaking numbers across the sports writing, sports photography and sports broadcasting categories – the judges are all briefed and busy, and the menu agreed and dining room at one of London’s most prestigious venues is booked.
Now all we need is YOU to attend a gala night celebrating the best of our business, at the British Sports Journalism Awards at the Lancaster London, on Monday, February 22, sponsored by BT Sport.
Our ticket prices offer outstanding value, with massive price discounts for SJA members.
With just a month to the big night, and table bookings already coming in, make sure you have your placed booked so as not to miss out on a great night with friends and colleagues from sport and the media. It is promising to be the biggest sports journalism awards event ever staged.
The shortlisted entries will be published on this website, category by category, from January 27. Only the short-listed entries in the regional sportswriter award – who each receive a free ticket courtesy of the SJA – won’t have to book their places at the awards dinner.
Ticket prices include a drinks reception and exhibition of the leading entries in the photography categories, a three-course meal (and half-bottle of wine per person), a terrific opportunity to meet friends old and new, all compered by Jim Rosenthal, and a hotel bar which will be open until 1.30am.
Our chosen cause this year is The Journalists’ Charity, and there will be fund-raising activity during the evening, with special prizes for a few lucky winners, too.
Tickets for the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards dinner are £144 per person.
As a significant membership benefit, SJA members are allowed to buy a single ticket for just £72, or a pair of tickets for £180 (all prices include VAT). Members are limited to no more than two tickets at the special rate.
