Roan gets sports news job with BBC

BBC News has appointed Dan Roan as sports correspondent, to work across television, radio and online.

Roan replaces James Munro, who left the BBC to become head of communications at the LTA last year.

Roan has been working at the BBC since being made redundant in the collapse at Setanta last year. Previously, he’d worked at Sky.

“The last 12 months have been tough, but I’ve found my membership of the SJA to be a huge source of motivation throughout,” Roan told sportsjournalists.co.uk.

“Several fellow-members have provided kind and invaluable support for which I’ll always be grateful.”
