Shiny Media launches women’s football website

Ahead of the women’s World Cup kicking off in China this week, Shiny Media – which already runs five blogs covering British football clubs – has launched a women’s football blog, www.kickster.tv.

Carrie Dunn, who has previously contributed to Shiny’s cricket site The Googly, is editing the new site.

Dunn is freelance and has written for a number of publications including The Times, thelondonpaper and The Guardian.

Dunn said: “I’m really looking forward to editing Kickster with my co-writer, Georgina Turner, and raising the media profile of women’s football and women in football.”

Shiny Media raised eyebrows earlier this year when the UK-based company started to launch blogs aimed directly at the US market.

The blogging firm boasts more than 40 blogs focused on fashion, technology, lifestyle and sport.
