Will Tidey has left British Eurosport to take on the newly-created role of sports editor across 30 new sports website titles owned by Digital Sports Group.
The group of websites are all hosted at co.uk domains and include football.co.uk, tennis.co.uk, golf.co.uk, athletics.co.uk, cricket.co.uk and olympics.co.uk.
“It’s an exciting project with enormous potential,†said Tidey, an SJA member.
“Digital Sports Group have ambitious plans for these websites and it’s heartening to see a company investing in the sports media in the current climate.
“We’re in the very early stages right now and only a handful of the sites are live, but ultimately we aim to offer a diverse online
experience that will feature plenty of user-friendly content and ingenuity.â€
