Last chance to book for Apr 7 Golf Day

Time is fast running out to book your place on one of the major social occasions of the Sports Journalists’ Association’s 60th anniversary year – our Spring Golf Day to be staged at Surbiton Golf Club on Monday, April 7.

To sign yourself up to play on this splendid, not-too-serious golfing day, please contact Trevor Bond by e-mailing him at: Trevjanbond1@aol.com or tel: 01277 651708.

Established in 1895, Surbiton enjoys panoramic views over Surrey. Its picturesque Par 70 parkland course, running out to just over 6,000 yards from the competition tees, offers both challenging and enjoyable golf.

For the first SJA Golf Day of 2008, we have been offered £45 a head for coffee on arrival, 18 holes and a set lunch. There is a facility on the 8th tee to purchase bacon rolls which may avoid the scramble to rush breakfast at the start.

It will be the usual three-ball format with a first tee-off time at 9.00am. Guests as always most welcome and plenty to play for.

Another date for your diary: The SJA Autumn Golf Day, with the Phil Sheldon Trophy being contested, is to be staged at Muswell Hill Golf Club, on Monday, September 15.

Contact Trevor Bond to register your desire to play.
