Substack UK invites sports media professionals to take “backstage tour” of digital platform; free online event to be held on Tuesday 8 October (6.30pm BST) on Zoom; sign up now!
By the SJA

The SJA, in association with Substack UK, is offering a special online introduction class for sports journalists to discover more about the digital platform.
The hour-long session, to be held on Tuesday 8 October (6.30pm BST) via Zoom, will provide a “backstage tour” of Substack’s integrated suite of free creation, publication and distribution tools.
Those working in sports media or aspiring to be part of the industry – whether in writing, community, podcasting, video shows or social media – will pick up useful information in the class.
Hosted by Substack UK’s Arthur Meek, this session is ideal for SJA members, those who are part of the SJA Academy, and anyone who is curious about what the SJA has to offer its members.
And if you’ve never even heard of Substack before, you’ll be very welcome too!
If you’re already familiar with the platform, and thinking about starting your own, you’ll walk away with some practical and tactical hints that can help you get going, and get growing on Substack.
If you’re already using Substack, it’s also worth dropping in, because the platform is evolving fast. Live Video and In-app Posts are two of the features that are being rolled out now.
You’ll also see how a huge number of sports journalists and small teams are building community around their work, leveraging Substack to help them cover the sports, teams and leagues they love in a range of different ways.
Sign up here for the Zoom session on Tuesday 8 October, beginning at 6.30pm promptly.
