Media day: synchro swimming

British Swimming is staging a pre-Olympic Media Day for the British synchronised swimming duo.

Britain’s first synchronised swimming duo to qualify for the Olympics in 16 years, Olivia Allison and Jenna Randall, will be holding a pre-Olympic press day before their participation in the Beijing Olympic Games.

They have been at the forefront of the resurgence of British synchronised swimming since National Performance Director Biz Price took charge of the sport in 2007 and are now seen as contenders for success in London 2012.

Synchronised swimming is one of the only Olympic disciplines that requires high levels of strength, power, stamina, flexibility, artistry and specialised breathing techniques to be at the top level of the sport. This will be the last chance for media to view their Olympic routines and to interview the athletes before Beijing.

When: Wednesday 9th July.

Timing: 11am – 12pm – Training and Performance of Olympic Routines.
12pm – 1pm – One-on-One interview opportunities.

Where: Garrison Sports Centre, Aldershot.

RSVP: Please confirm attendance to Gemma Field on 07917 726431 or email gemma.field@swimming.org by 7th July.

Note: Please be aware that any cameras will need an extra half an hour to acclimatise to the pool atmosphere.
