British Cycling Pre-Olympic Media Day

The strongest and most professional cycling team in living memory is making the final preparations for the 2008 Olympics.

Recent outstanding performances at the World Track Championships and the tough Olympic selection process are an indication of the talent and potential of these competitors.

You are invited to a media day at the Wales National Velodrome, Newport, where members of the track sprint and endurance squads will be putting the finishing touches on their preparations for Beijing. They will be joined by other members of the Team GB cycling squad as their training and race commitments permit.

This will be the final opportunity for the media to interview or photograph the cyclists prior to their departure for Beijing.

When: Thursday 24 July 2008

Where: Wales National Velodrome, Newport International Sports Village, Velodrome Way, Newport, South Wales, NP19 4PT

Time: 9:30 – arrival
10:00 – 11:00 – news conference and Q&A
11:00 – 12:30 – opportunities to film/photograph riders on the track
11:00 – 12:30 – one-to-one interviews
12:30 – depart

Dave Brailsford, Performance Director of British Cycling, as well as members of the coaching and technical support staff will be available for interview along with the cyclists.
