Express moves Dunn to London for sports news beat

Matthew Dunn is to move to London as the Daily Express beefs up its sports news coverage in a direct challenge to the Daily Mail.

Dunn has been based in Yorkshire, and writes a diary, Said and Dunn, while covering a football patch which has stretched from Blackburn to Norwich as clubs nearer him have dropped out of the Premier League.

Now he will move to London on a one-mission remit – to compete with the Mail’s Charlie Sale.

The Express‘s London staffer Gideon Brooks, who can turn his hand to a variety of sports, has been lined up for a switch to Lancashire with responsibility for three Premier League clubs – Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan.
