Researcher seeks help on Caribbean cricketer survey

Dr Russell Holden, the co-author of The Politics of Sport – Community, Mobility and Identity, is seeking the help of SJA members for a new study, on the decline of black cricketers in the game in England and Wales.

“The decline of the Afro-Caribbean cricketer in the English and Welsh game is a very noticeable trend,” Holden said.

“I am currently undertaking some research exploring whether it is possible to reverse this trend and to what extent any new initiatives are working in generating new enthusiasm for the game within the inner-cities.

“Any thoughts, observations and suggestions on whom I could speak to would be much appreciated.”
