ECB: media office changes

From Steve Elworthy, Director Marketing and Communications, England and Wales Cricket Board
Following the creation of the Marketing and Communications Department, which was announced last week, we are keen that all members of the media are aware of who the key points of contacts are for information and access across all areas of the ECB.

Under the new structure Andrew Walpole will take responsibility for the day-to-day media relations and communications at the ECB as well as overseeing ECB Publications and the New Media Department. (andrew.walpole@ecb.co.uk)

James Avery will be the principal contact for the England team during the domestic international season and on overseas tours with support from Mark Ward (Sponsor PR) and Andrew Walpole where appropriate. (james.avery@ecb.co.uk and mark.ward@ecb.co.uk)

Rhian Evans, Media Relations Manager, will be responsible for England Lions, England U/19s and domestic first class cricket. (rhian.evans@ecb.co.uk)

I am also pleased to inform you that we have appointed a new Media Relations Manager for the England Women’s Team and Non-First Class Cricket, Fiona Maddocks, who joins us from Sports Coach UK. (fiona.maddocks@ecb.co.uk)

Will Collinson, Head of Marketing, will oversee the marketing portfolio across the ECB (will.collinson@ecb.co.uk)

We will be launching the online media accreditation system this week and Maria O’Donoghue will be in contact under a separate e-mail with those details. (maria.odonoghue@ecb.co.uk)

I will take responsibility for managing the wider department and am always available to discuss any issues that you are seeking guidance or clarification on. I look forward to meeting you during the course of what promises to be a very busy domestic and international season.
