Orvice steps out for cancer charity with Radcliffe

By Vikki Orvice, Athletics Correspondent, The Sun
I’m trying to contact as many people as possible. It’s those dreaded words “please sponsor me”.

I’m walking 5km with Paula Radcliffe on May 6 in Battersea Park to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. She is recovering from an operation on her toe – hence the walking bit and the reason she is not competing in the London Marathon – but she will still have the edge over me.

I, as some of you will know, have a vested interest in their research having been diagnosed with cancer
two years ago. Being in remission I can vouch for the fact the drugs they develop do work!

All donations gratefully received – no matter how small.

It’s probably the first time Paula’s supported someone actively on drugs. I just hope there are no testers at the end of the course.
