Sochi Winter Olympics: BOA media open day - Sports Journalists' Association

What: The Team GB Media Summit will provide an opportunity for print, broadcast, online journalists and photographers to conduct interviews and photograph approximately 50 Team GB hopefuls ahead of 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Athletes from the sport of bobsleigh will also be available to be filmed and photographed as they train on the University of Bath Push Track. Athletes from the sport of figure skating will be available via skype.

Who: Athletes and Officials from the Olympic Winter sports in which Team GB will compete in at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Including world championship medallists Shelley Rudman (bob skeleton), Eve Muirhead (curling), Elise Christie (short track speed skating), Vancouver 2010 Olympians Lee Jackson (biathlon), Kristan Bromley (bob skeleton), Jon Eley (short track speed skating), Innsbruck 2012 Youth Olympian Katie Summerhayes (freestyle skiing), and Team GB Chef de Mission Mike Hay

The six Olympic Winter sports that Team GB will compete in are: biathlon, bobsleigh and bob-skeleton, curling, luge, ski and snowboard, and skating.

To date no athlete has been selected for Team GB for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Athlete selection is likely to take place late 2013 through to end of January 2014.
