A memorial service in honour of Colin Hart is to take place at the Grand Hall, Brent Civic Centre, Wembley this Saturday, April 12th at 1130am.
The Boxing Writers Club (BWA) have helped Colin’s family in making the arrangements and ask that any friends wishing to attend should contact BWA Secretary David Smith .
“Colin’s journalist friends will be very welcome, but arrangements have had to be made at very short notice for family reasons.” Smith explained.
There will be eulogies from the SJA’s Jim Rosenthal, a long time presenter of boxing, British Boxing Board of Control General Secretary Robert Smith and Commonwealth Games Triple Jump medallist Connie Henry MBE who founded the Track Academy at Willesden and forged a friendship with Colin when he covered athletics.
It is appropriate that the service should take place so close to Wembley Stadium and Arena where Colin reported so many memorable title fights during his illustrious career.
